Introduction to the 12-STEP Program

The 12-STEP program is a time-tested approach to addiction recovery that has helped millions of individuals worldwide achieve and maintain sobriety. History and Origins

The 12-STEP program was originally developed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in the 1930s. It has since been adapted to address a wide range of addictions, including drugs, gambling, and other compulsive behaviors. The program’s principles are rooted in spiritual and psychological practices that promote healing and self-discovery.

Importance in recovery

The 12-STEP program provides a structured path for individuals to follow, offering a sense of direction and purpose. It emphasizes personal responsibility, community support, and spiritual growth, which are essential components of successful recovery.

The 12 Steps Explained

01

Admitting Powerlessness

Recognize that you are powerless over your addiction and that your life has become unmanageable.

02

Believing in a Higher Power

Come to believe that a power greater than yourself can restore you to sanity.

03

Turning Over Control

Make a decision to turn your will and your life over to the care of a higher power.

04

Self-Examination

Conduct a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourself.

05

Admitting Wrongdoing

Admit to yourself, to a higher power, and to another human being the exact nature of your wrongs.

06

Readiness for Change

Be entirely ready to have a higher power remove all these defects of character.

07

Asking for Help

Humbly ask a higher power to remove your shortcomings.

08

Making a List of Amends

Make a list of all persons you have harmed and become willing to make amends to them all.

09

Making Amends

Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10

Ongoing Inventory

Continue to take personal inventory and when you are wrong, promptly admit it.

11

Seeking Spiritual Growth

Seek through prayer and meditation to improve your conscious contact with a higher power, praying only for knowledge of its will for you and the power to carry that out.

12

Helping Others

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, try to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all your affairs.

Meetings and Group Sessions

We hold regular 12-STEP meetings and group sessions where residents can share their experiences, discuss challenges, and support each other. These sessions are facilitated by experienced staff who guide discussions and provide insights.

In addition to group sessions, we offer one-on-one mentoring and support. Our staff and peer mentors work closely with residents to help them navigate each step of the program and address any personal challenges they may face.
