Don’t Be Afraid: A New Beginning Awaits in Recovery Housing

At New Life Independent Living, we know taking the first step toward recovery can feel like stepping into the unknown. If you're reading this, maybe you're feeling scared, unsure, or overwhelmed. Maybe you've lost a lot—your home, your relationships, your peace of mind. But hear this: you don’t have to be afraid, and you are not alone.

Our recovery housing—also known as sober living—is more than a roof over your head. It’s a safe, structured place where you can start over with dignity and support. It’s where sobriety begins, families are restored, and lives are transformed.

What Makes Our Homes Different?

Each home in our program is built with purpose: to help women (and their children) heal. Residents receive:

  • A clean and peaceful space to call home

  • A supportive community of women walking the same journey

  • Life skills classes and vocational support

  • Access to faith-based or 12-step programming

  • Transportation assistance and case management

  • Parenting support and trauma-informed care

We’ve seen time and again how, when given the right environment, women rise. And sometimes, they soar.

Resident Spotlight: Meet Danielle

Danielle came to us after years of struggling with addiction.. She arrived with nothing but a small backpack and a shattered spirit.

“I almost didn’t knock on the door,” Danielle said. “I thought maybe I wasn’t worth saving.”

But she did knock. And everything changed.

With the support of our team and the women in the house, Danielle began to rebuild. She got clean, attended every group meeting, started budgeting and meal-planning, and even enrolled in job training. Her daughter started school nearby and began to smile again. For the first time in years, Danielle could breathe.

Six months later, Danielle had saved enough to move into her own home. Today, she has full-time work, a car, and is applying to be a peer recovery coach. Her daughter just started Pre-K with perfect attendance.

“New Life New You didn’t just give me a bed,” she said. “They gave me my life back.”
